Ahoi there! Ship's aboard!
These photos are STOCK images. You will receive a boat similar, but not exact, to the ones shown (the kids won't be parted from these! They've grown very attached after a year of everyday interaction.) And don't these look beautiful, still, after a year of rowdy play?? These are sturdy, one of a kind, natural, and meant-to-last-forever, toys!
Boats measure approx. 11.5″ long and stand approx. 7.5″ tall. The crows nest has been hollowed out on the lathe to hold toy people in. The ladder is made from hemp twine; knotted and glued tightly (the ladder is tied permanently in place). The sail is made from cotton fabric, stitched permanently into place through holes on the mast. Darling little 'cannons' stick out on each side for imaginative play!
We made these upon overhearing our younger siblings bemoan that their block-made boats kept falling apart. Last Easter, each younger sibling was thrilled to find one of these peaking out of their basket! Without exaggeration, these boats are still getting played with every day!
These are excellent for boys or girls! They fit several doll sizes, and seem to fit into the kid's play no matter what style of dolls, people, toys or blocks they're playing with!
(Note: these boats are left unfinished and not intended for play in water.)
Names can be embroidered into sails for few extra bucks. Wood burning on the boats is also an option. We're happy to work with you on any customization or personalization ideas you may have!
