If you browse around my shop you will notice my vast collection of braided necklaces, called Kumi-Himo which is a Japanese technique. All of them have been lovingly hand-braided by me, and matched with their pendants, all collected over the years from different sources, including bead stores from around the country, pendants hand made by me or other local artists, or from other necklaces that I have re-purposed. There are many different techniques to put a clasp on the braid. The way that I have chosen is believed to be the most secure; includes wire wrapping the ends and gluing to prevent from fraying or un-braiding, and covering the wire with an end-cap and creating a wire loop and attaching a lobster clasp, intended to provide comfort while going through years of natural wear and tear from wearing it with all your favorite outfits.Â
