Copper hearts table or desk sculpture
This is a small, desk sculpture which shows two hearts entwined.
The1/8th inch thick copper portion of the sculpture measures 4 inches long by 1 ¾ inches.wide.
The wooden base measures1 ½ inch wide by 4 inches long by 3/4” thick.
One of the techniques that were used to create this piece is called hydraulic die forming,used to emboss the heart shapes in the copper. Another technique that was used is called formfolding,used to create the folds in the metal. These folds represent what may entwine two hearts.
The red patina was created from a Japanese recipe for coloring metal.
The finish is protected with multiple coats of wax.
